Consul was a title denoting a position that sat alongside ambassadors, politicians, and members of royalty. They often had protocol droids serving them as personal attachés.^[1]

After the fall of the Eternal Empire the planet of Zakuul would be ruled by a Consul. Consul was also the title given to ambassadors by the New Republic, Imperial Remnant, the Trade Federation, and Hutts. Within the Trade Federation, the title also meant the holder of it represented a planet belonging to the group. It was also a rank among the Intendant caste of the Yuuzhan Vong. They were often in charge of resource requisition, and other bureaucratic matters. They also functioned as the servants of Prefects.
