- "Reprensentatives—please! This is wrong. We are the Convocation. We stand for peace. For unity."
- ―Representative Kilan T'Dara, to other reprensentatives who were attempting to attack an envoy of the Yacombe
The Convocation of the Force, also known more simply as the Convocation[4] or the Force Convocation,[5] was an advisory body and council designed to promote understanding between the various Force religions based on the desert[4] moon[1] Jedha during the High Republic Era.[4] Formed a few years before 382 BBY[3] religions with representatives on the Convocation included the Disciples of the Whills, the Fallanassi, the Lonto, the Matukai,[4] the Jedi Order, the Guardians of the Whills, the Church of the Force, and the Sorcerers of Tund.[1] Shortly into its existence,[6] the Convocation was chaired by Representative Kilan T'Dara of the Church of the Force.[7] At that time, the Path of the Open Hand cult, a small religion based on the planet Dalna, had no presence on Jedha, but the Evereni follower Marda Ro wished to spread their word to the moon and join the Convocation as the Path's representative when Padawan Kevmo Zink suggested as such. Although the cult's leader, Elecia Zeveron, disapproved of the idea, former leader[1] Werth Plouth[7] was intrigued and supportive of spreading to Jedha.[1]
In 382 BBY,[8] the Convocation planned to hold a festival known as the Festival of Balance[9] in Jedha City, which was projected to bring in large amounts of tourists. The dock worker Piralli commented on the festival to adjunct Keth Cerepath during a particularly busy night at the tapbar Enlightenment, which both were regulars of. However,[2] Kradon Minst,[10] the bar's owner, thought that the festival would be good for business.[2] In the same year,[8] the Yacombe applied for membership on the council but ultimately retracted their offer after a number of the current representatives attempted to attack the Yacombe envoy sent.[4]
Over a month later after the Path left Dalna,[11] Plouth, accompanied by Yana Ro and Radicaz Dobbs, adressed the Convocation, demanding the council to be dissolved.[7] After Leebon's death during the Battle of Jedha, her aide Oliviah Zeveron was expected to succeed her, but due to injuries Zeveron sustained during the battle she was advised to return to Coruscant to recover and Jedi Vildar Mac took her place on the Convocation. The former Guardian of the Whills Tey Sirrek was also given a seat on the council to represent those who did not belong to any of the major Force factions.[12]

Star Wars: Timelines dates the battle to 382 BBY, which means the Convocation must have been formed around that year. However, The High Republic: Path of Vengeance also establishes that the Convocation had existed for years by that point, meaning it must have come into exist a few years before 382 BBY.
