Core Foodstuffs was a major macro-farming corporation that, along with other companies such as the Tagge Restaurant Association and the Imperial Fruit Company, benefited from employing workers impoverished by the Galactic Empire's agri-sector maximization policies.[3] Core Foodstuffs also had heavy investments on Taanab, along with Arcon Multinode Agricorp and the Tagge Restaurant Association.[1]

Core Foodstuffs was first mentioned in the Dark Empire Sourcebook, written by Michael Allen Horne, and released in June 1993. Core Foodstuffs was later briefly mentioned in The Essential Atlas, a reference book written by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace, and released in August 2009.
