- "Cola? That stuff could work as repulsorlift engine oil, maybe."
- ―A taste test survey taker
Description[edit | edit source]
- "I need the survey results of taste tests of my new beverage, Corelli-Cola. Could you check on whether it's ready?"
- ―Inventor of Corelli-Cola, to a spacer
Corelli-Cola was a cola beverage that, according to a survey of taste testers, was not very palatable. One taste test survey taker claimed that the cola could possibly work as repulsorlift engine oil.
History[edit | edit source]
- "Gaah! And I'd planned a big product rollout this month! Well, back to the lab."
- ―The creator of Corelli-Cola, after seeing the survey results
During the time of the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic, an inventor sought to create a type of cola, a Corellian beverage named Corelli-Cola. The inventor planned a big a product rollout of the cola, but before doing so, the inventor required survey results of blind taste tests for the new beverage.
Following the Battle of Yavin, cerca 1 ABY, a spacer agreed to receive the taste test results from a survey taker in exchange for a credit payout. The survey taker remarked that the cola might work as repulsorlift engine oil, implying that it was quite unsuitable for consumption. When the inventor of the cola received the datadisc of the survey results from the spacer, the creator woefully remarked that they would have to return to the lab for further refinements.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Corelli-Cola was first mentioned in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, prior to its closure on December 15, 2011. Early in the game's lifespan, dynamically spawned non-player characters offered a variety of simple missions. In this case, NPCs could offer a delivery mission titled "Blind Taste Tests." The mission required the player to receive a datadisc from an NPC, and deliver it back to their assigned waypoint in exchange for a credit reward.
