This article is about the capitol building. You may be looking for Coronet Capitol Tower destroyed around 6 months ABY.

"Greetings and welcome to the heart of the Corellian government."
―Brantlee Spondoon[2]

The Coronet Capitol was the building situated in Coronet City,[1] that was home to the Diktat and the Corellia government.[2]

History[]

"The missing shipment was at the capitol building? Unbelievable. I'll send some droids to go retrieve it. And the mystery crate contained spice? I'm astounded. Why in the world would a smuggled crate of spice end up at the capitol building? You don't think this involved the Diktat, do you? No, that's patently absurd, isn't it? I'll have to alert CorSec of all this."
Lieutenant Jasper, to a spacer[3]

The capitol building was known to be in operation during the time of the Galactic Civil War following the Battle of Yavin in 0 BBY,[1] and served as the governmental building following the destruction of the Coronet Capitol Tower around 6 months ABY.[4]

In 1 ABY,[5] the Ragtags smuggled illegal spice in the Coronet Capitol building.[3] This was part of a plot arranged by the Rogue CorSec to discredit the government and overthrow the Diktat Daclif Gallamby.[6] The plot was foiled after a spacer working for CorSec Lieutenant Mack Jasper discovered the spice and a shipment stolen from the businessman Ral Mundi in the Capitol.[3]

Around the same time, some thieves entered the Capitol and stole a stormtrooper armor that belong to an Imperial officer. Gallura Handerin, a government aide, hired a spacer to recover the armor before the officer could notice the robbery.[7]

Behind the scenes[]

The Coronet Capitol was a location in the 2003 massively multiplayer online roleplaying game Star Wars Galaxies,[1] prior to the game's closure on December 15, 2011.[8]

  5. The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
