The Corrupter was a Victory-class Star Destroyer that, during the Imperial Era, belonged to the Imperial Navy. It was equipped with sublight engines and turbolasers. At some point, the Star Destroyer was flanked by at least five TIE/sa bombers in space and fired multiple shots at a target.
Behind the scenes
The Corrupter was introduced to the new Star Wars canon in Swayed by the Dark Side, a 2017 expansion of Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars: The Card Game. The ship's card was titled "Corruptor" and featured artwork by Madeline Boni. The illustration was reused from the 2015 Victory-class Star Destroyer Expansion Pack, a Star Wars Legends expansion for Fantasy Flight Games' miniatures game Star Wars: Armada. In 2020, the Upgrade Card Collection for Star Wars: Armada also included a card for the Star Destroyer, titled "Corrupter." This article assumes the more recent spelling is correct.
The starship originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, first appearing in X-Wing: The Bacta War, which was written by Michael A. Stackpole and released in 1997 as the fourth novel in the Star Wars: X-Wing series. The Corrupter was then first pictured in the 2006 video game Star Wars: Empire at War, in which its name was among several that could be randomly applied to a Victory-class Star Destroyer.
