- "If I were to pursue my own research, recreationally, would that be allowed?"
"According to your file, your previous research involved cloning and genetic engineering. That class of research is expressly prohibited by the Coruscant Accords, Section 13, subparagraph seven. My apologies." - ―Dr. Penn Pershing and a parole droid
The Coruscant Accords were regulations in the New Republic after the Galactic Civil War.
Guidelines[]
Section 13, subparagraph seven of the Coruscant Accords prohibited research of cloning and genetic engineering.[2]
History[]
During the New Republic Era, Amnesty Scientist Doctor Penn Pershing asked his parole droid if he was allowed to conduct recreational research, having previously worked in the field of cloning and genetic engineering. The droid informed the former Imperial scientist that his type of research was restricted by the Coruscant Accords.[2]
