"An investigation into the above referenced case file, re: the wanted felon going by the street name "Vistis," revealed evidence to indicate the subject was legally terminated by a member of the Jedi Order pursuing official Republic business, specifically the search for stolen top secret military research files."
―The Investigatory Panel to a Jedi Knight on the death of Vistis Garn[src]

The Coruscant Security Special Investigation Panel was a panel of officials in the Coruscant Security Force that were headquartered in Galactic City on the planet Coruscant during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. They investigated incidents where law enforcement personnel, including Jedi, used deadly force and they would then decide if it had been legal to use such force or not. If the person was a criminal with a bounty and was terminated legally, the Special Investigation Panel would award the person who had terminated the criminal with the promised bounty.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The Coruscant Security Special Investigation Panel first appeared in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game released by BioWare on December 20, 2011. During the mission "Stolen Secrets," the player can choose to terminate Vistis Garn for dark side points.[3] If the player chooses to do so, the Special Investigation Panel sends the player a message stating they investigated Vistis' case file and declared the termination to be legal. They then offer the bounty to the player.[2]
