A Coruscanti necklace was a type of necklace from[1] the planet Coruscant.[2] Each of the piece of jewellery's beads or gems was individually knotted in place so that any section could break without it ruining the whole necklace. When designing the Galactic Empire's DS-2 Death Star II Mobile Battle Station, Moff Tiaan Jerjerrod built in failsafes and choke-points that gave the battle station the elegance of a Coruscanti necklace and ensured that it would not suffer a catastrophic chain reaction similar to the one that had destroyed the original Death Star.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Coruscanti necklaces were mentioned in "Any Work Worth Doing," a short story written by Amal El-Mohtar and published in the 2023 anthology From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi.[1]
