Corwin Shelvay was an individual whose name was etched into the wall of a cave of the Hidden Path on Jabiim.[1] In 9 BBY,[2] their name was among those seen by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi during Sith Lord Darth Vader's raid of the Path's base on Jabiim.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Shelvay was introduced into the current Star Wars canon in "Part V" of Obi-Wan Kenobi, released on June 15, 2022.[1] The character originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity in "Calibration Check," a short story in Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments from the Rim, a 1993 supplement to West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. In the Legends continuity, Shelvay is a Human male Jedi Knight who joined the Jedi Order after the Great Jedi Purge, and later joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic.[3]
In the episode guide on StarWars.com, Shelvay is stated as a survivor of the Jedi Purge;[4] however, in the Legends continuity, he joined the order after the purge had taken place under the tutelage of Jedi Master Darrin Arkanian.[3]

Therefore, Obi-Wan Kenobi, including "Part V" and the attack on Jabiim, must be set in 9 BBY.
