- "We are lords. Crime lords."
- ―Darth Maul
A crime lord,[11] also known as a crime lady,[12] crime kingpin,[13] or crime boss,[14] was someone who ruled over a criminal organization.[15]
Luke Skywalker, Leia, and Han Solo—heroes of the Rebellion[16]—had to escape greedy crime lords such as Jabba the Hutt in their adventures.[15] The desert world of Tatooine,[15] the swampy world of Nal Hutta, and the jungle world of Teth were amongst the many worlds ruled by Hutt Clan crime lords such as Jabba.[6]
During the reign of the Empire, Cikatro Vizago was a Devaronian crime lord who ran the Broken Horn Syndicate,[2] whilst the Quarren Lallani was a crime lady who boasted Mandalorian mercenaries, and was a rival of Jabba's.[12]
Maul and Savage Opress were crime lords after taking over Mandalore.[source?]
