"A technique that makes it possible to detach one's mind from coarse sensations. The secret to overcoming physical pain lies in the nonphysical. A master of this technique can endure any torture and withstand any injury."
―Darth Bane, Book of Sith[1]

Crucitorn was a technique for enduring physical pain with the Force.[2]

Description[]

Crucitorn was a technique for enduring physical pain or transcending it entirely through the Force.[2] The Sith classified the technique as part of their Mind focus or school.[1]

Applications[]

"Ancient Jedi learned that the power of the Force could be used to ease pain, heal wounds, and cure various afflictions, and that these healing arts were effective on ordinary beings as well as Force-users."
―Tionne Solusar, Jedi vs. Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force[3]

By detaching their mind, a Jedi or other Force user could endure any manner of wound or withstand even the worst tortures.[1]

Users[]

"Thought this was a Jedi technique! At least that's what Master Koth told me."
―Quinlan Vos, Book of Sith[1]

Crucitorn was used by Jedi Order[2] and Sith. The technique was known by the Sith Lord Darth Bane. Details regarding the technique were mentioned in his essay, which, many years later, was added to the Book of Sith, a compilation of historical writings collected in one volume by Darth Sidious.[1] During the Mandalorian Wars, some of the Revanchists practiced Crucitorn.[4] During the Great Peace of the Republic, Crucitorn was practiced by Eeth Koth, a Zabrak Jedi Master.[2] Upon reading about the technique in the Book of Sith, Jedi Master Quinlan Vos was surprised to learn the technique was used by the Sith.[1]
