Cuyacan was a location in the galaxy that shared its name with a group of beings. At some point after the Garsea family left the planet Batuu[1] in 21 ABY,[2] the Frinn Mak Traveling Circus was heading to Cuyacan when they rescued smuggler Izal Garsea aboard her starship, the Meridian, after it ran out of fuel and became stranded in space.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

Cuyacan was first mentioned in the 2019 novel A Crash of Fate, written by Zoraida Córdova.[1]

Notes and referencesEdit

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 A Crash of Fate
  2. The events of A Crash of Fate take place after the Hosnian Cataclysm, which is dated to 34 ABY by Star Wars: Galactic Atlas. According to the Lucasfilm Story Group's Matt Martin, A Crash of Fate takes place before Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, which is also placed in 34 ABY by a timeline shown at D23 Expo 2019. A Crash of Fate must therefore also be set in 34 ABY. According to the novel, Izal Garsea left Batuu when she was five years old, and as the novel takes place on the day before and day of Izal Garsea's eighteenth birthday, it can be deduced that she left the planet in 21 ABY.
