- "Despite its decidedly floral notes, the Dagobah Slug Slinger isn't nearly as swampy as you might expect from a drink that originated on Dagobah. That's because it's got a tart citrus base that provides the ideal balance to the slug's sweet, herbaceous ooze. The strong flavors also do a nice job of smoothin' out the equally strong portion of booze it contains. But don't be fooled—this one has more kick to it than a master of Teräs Käsi!"
- ―Strono Tuggs, The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook
Dagobah Slug Slinger was an alcoholic cocktail that could be sweetened with either Dagobah swamp slug slime or an imitation syrup, Dagobah Slug Syrup. It was served at Oga's Cantina in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu in around 34 ABY. Chef Strono Tuggs included recipes for the cocktail and syrup in his cookbook.
Description[edit | edit source]
Dagobah Slug Slinger was an alcoholic beverage that was served at Oga's Cantina in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu[1] in around 34 ABY.[5] The specialty cocktail was named for swamp slugs[6] from the swamp planet Dagobah[7] that secreted a saccharine slime with fragrant notes of the herbs they had digested. The slime was used to sweeten the cocktail's tart citrus base and strong alcoholic content,[2] which left drinkers feel like they had been slung around by the slugs.[3] Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs created an imitation syrup, Dagobah Slug Syrup, to use as a slime substitute when lacking a supply of slugs.[2] At Oga's Cantina, the beverage was topped off with medicinal herbs grown by the native Tash of Dagobah,[3] and it was sweetened with swamp slug slime.[6] The drink was suitable for human consumption.[4]
History[edit | edit source]

The drink at Oga's Cantina
After the Battle of Takodana in 34 ABY,[8] Tuggs published his cookbook and included recipes for his imitation syrup and the cocktail.[2] One night at Oga's Cantina in 34 ABY,[9] Resistance spy Vi Moradi took Ylena's recommendation and imbided a Dagobah Slug Slinger at the start of her night of drinking before she made her first attempts to recruit Batuuans for the Resistance.[4]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Dagobah Slug Slinger is one of the alcoholic beverages sold to customers at Oga's Cantina bar in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. It was first revealed during promotions in February 2019.[10] The menu's description reads, "Herradura Reposado Tequila, Bols Blue Curaçao, Citrus Juices, Ginger, Herbs, and Bitters."[11]
An out-of-universe recipe for the cocktail is included in the 2019 recipe book Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, written by Marc Sumerak and Chelsea Monroe-Cassel. The ingredients lime juice, orange juice, Dagobah Slug Syrup, blue curaçao, tequila, and water are combined and shaken, then poured over ice and garnished with a sprig of rosemary.[2]
