Dalyrakes were a large arachnoid species from Talus.
Biology and appearance[]
- "They can live on land or in the water indefinitely. What they do quite often is find a solid perch near water and dangle in their front two arms as lures. They wait for some unsuspecting fish to swim by and spear it with their venomous talons."

Dalyrakes were multi-limbed[1] arachnoids[2] native to Talus, but also prevalent on Corellia. They lived both on land and in water, using two of their stalk-tentacles as lures for food animals, stabbing them with a poison barb when they approached.[3] They primarily ate fish, small reptavians, and tabage.[2] If cut, their hides secreted black toxin. When they died, they instinctively lunged as a form of death-spasm.[3]
Their meat was considered a delicacy.[2]
A subspecies larger than the common dalyrakes was the giant dalyrake.[1]

Dalyrakes appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4]
