Dangers of the Core is a children's picture book inclusive of stickers written by Jim Thomas and illustrated by Boris Vallejo. It is a Jedi Readers Step 3 (Grades 2–3) young readers publication. It depicts the events that happen between Qui-Gon Jinn meeting Jar Jar Binks, and when they arrive at Theed.

Dangers of the Core is a re-cap of the underwater chase scene from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
The summary as described on the back of the book is as follows:
"The planet Naboo is being invaded! Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan have to get to Theed and warn the Queen.Jar Jar Binks knows the best way, but it's underwater!
