Daniel Davis, born on November 26, 1945 in Gurdon, Arkansas, is an American actor. His best known roles include Niles the butler on the popular sitcom The Nanny, Professor James Moriarty in two episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Captain Davenport in the film The Hunt for Red October (1990). In 2012, Davis voiced the audiobook version of Darth Plagueis.
