Danz Borin[2] was a light-skinned, brown-haired human who spent time in[1] Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina in Mos Eisley spaceport on the desert planet Tatooine[3] in 0 BBY.[4] While in the cantina, Borin wore a white flight suit with a sealed white helmet and was stood by a wall speaking to another individual in a space suit when the local moisture farmer Luke Skywalker entered the cantina with the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO.[1]

Borin then moved toward the bar, cup in hand, before sitting down in one of the booths with a different space suited-individual behind a Morseerian and the Rodian[1] Neesh.[5] When Skywalker and Kenobi later got into an altercation with the criminals Doctor Cornelius Evazan and Ponda Baba at the bar, Borin and the other suited individual stood and looked in their direction.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Danz Borin was portrayed by Chris Bunn[6] in the 1977 original trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.[1] The shots that Borin appears in were filmed on Stage 6 at Shepperton Studios between April 12 and April 22, 1976.[7] In the current Star Wars canon, the character was first identified when their name appeared as an incorrect answer to the trivia question "who introduced Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker to Han Solo" in an episode of The Star Wars Show that aired on October 14, 2021.[2] The character's name originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first used on a card in the 1996 "A New Hope Limited" set of cards for the Star Wars Customizable Card Game produced by Decipher, Inc.[8]
