Galactic Republic Admiral Dao commanded a Venator-class Star Destroyer during the Battle of Ryloth in 22 BBY, while trying to support Jedi General Ima-Gun Di and contact the Jedi High Council. After the ship's shields were lost and the main reactor was hit, Separatist forces defeated the Destroyer, killing Dao and his men.

The ship had a command bridge equipped with holographic communications systems. There was at least one command crew pit and windows surrounding it in a semicircle. Energy was provided by at least one main reactor. The ship also had shields equipped.[1]

In 22 BBY,[2] during the Clone Wars, the ship served as the flagship of Galactic Republic Admiral Dao, and fought alongside several Venator-class Star Destroyers in an effort to liberate[1] the Outer Rim Territories planet[3] Ryloth from the besieging forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During the course of the battle, Dao was contacted via hologram[1] by the Nikto Jedi Master Ima-Gun Di—the leader of the native Twi'lek freedom fighters, alongside[4] self-proclaimed General[5] Cham Syndulla[4]—, who asked him to request help from the Jedi Council due to the lack of supplies. The admiral complied and called the Council, arguing that aid to his fleet and the ground units was necessary, since the loss of Ryloth would result in the Republic bases in the Outer Rim being cut off. However, during the conversation, the Confederate warships managed to damage the main reactor of his flagship, leading to a system failure. After Dao reported that his fleet was no longer able to protect the troops on Ryloth, the shields failed and the craft was destroyed.[1]
