The Darius G-class freighter was a type of freighter manufactured by Darius. Commonly used throughout the galaxy. The freighter saw use during the Imperial Era by civilians and criminal factions, including its Mining Guild Freighter derivative. The Darius G-class was still in service during the Cold War and subsequent First Order-Resistance War, taking part in First Order operations as well as being part of the Citizens' Fleet that fought against the Sith Eternal's forces.

The Darius G-class freighter was a model of freighter used for the transportation of large amounts of cargo.[7] A derivative of the freighter, named the Mining Guild Freighter, was also in use.[9] The Darius G-class could also be modified with four large aft stabilizers.[3]
A large ship capable of carrying large amounts of cargo, the Darius G possessed a chin mounted ramp that opened up into a long multi-roomed cargo hold with tall ceilings. The Darius G also possessed two large cylindrical engines offset by two smaller engines.[7] The main hallways of the Darius G were large and spacious, and contained several blast doors,[3] while the ship also possessed one-person escape pods of a narrow blocky design. The Darius G was equipped with a number of these pods, with Teroj Kee's ship holding eighteen escape pods on its ventral surface.[7]
History[]
- "Freighter. You are in unauthorized space. Turn around or prepare to be fired upon."
"Negative, negative. Our Darius G-Class Freighter ran into some trouble. Had to switch to this ship for your, uh, 'cargo' delivery." - ―An Imperial Officer and Waka
The Darius G-class freighter was a type of freighter commonly used throughout the galaxy.[2] By the Galactic Civil War, the freighters were used by civilians as well as criminal factions.[10] During the Cold War, Darius G-class freighters brought fuel shipments to the refueling station Colossus, on the ocean planet Castilon. The Colossus's fuel shipments aboard the freighters were a common prey for pirates.[5] Transport TY-700 was used to deliver Major Elrik Vonreg to the platform for negotiations with Captain Imanuel Doza.[11]
Two refugee children, Kel and Eila, snuck onto a cargo ship after escaping a First Order massacre on Tehar, sought refuge on the Colossus.[12]

The underside of a Darius G-class freighter
One Darius G-class freighter in the Castilon system, carrying Kowakian monkey-lizards and a Kowakian ape-lizard, was attacked by members of Kragan Gorr's Warbird gang. When the freighter sent out a distress call, Poe Dameron and Kazuda Xiono, who had been in a nearby asteroid field, went to investigate it in sector six.[3]
Later, Kazuda Xiono would follow Teroj Kee into a Darius G's cargo hold in pursuit of a stolen phase connector. Inside of the ship, Kazuda tricked the pet gorg Bitey into biting a power coupling that led to the ship's electrode systems, causing the ship to lose power and crash into the oceans of Castilon as all aboard, except for one stormtrooper, abandoned ship in its escape pods.[7]

A Darius G-class freighter was used by Resistance operatives Poe Dameron and Kazuda Xiono to perform a Widowmaker maneuver with the latter's racer, the Fireball, by hiding on the freighter.[13]
After the galaxy-wide announcement of the Final Order, several of these freighters joined the fleet assembled in response to General Lando Calrissian's call to action. They then partook in the Battle of Exegol between the Resistance and the Sith Eternal.[8]
Behind the scenes[]
The Darius G-class, albeit unidentified, first appeared in "The High Tower," the fifth episode of the first season of the animated series Star Wars Resistance,[11] which aired on October 28, 2018.[14] It was later identified in "Signal from Sector Six," the seventh episode of the same season.[3] The freighter was designed by concept artist Jason Pichon.[4]
