"What about Darth Igrol? He is Sith, and he has served longer than anyone except Darth Xedrix."
―The Sith Lord Scourge[2]

Darth Igrol was a Sith pureblood male who became a Dark Lord of the Sith and served on the Dark Council of the reconstituted Sith Empire. He ascended to the twelve-member ruling body[2] sometime between 3984 and 3974 BBY, and by the 3954 BBY,[3] he had served on the Council longer than any other member besides Darth Xedrix.[2]

Igrol resided[2] in a lavish estate[4] on the planet Dromund Fels instead of the Empire's capital of Dromund Kaas, though he was summoned to the Imperial Citadel with eight other Dark Councilors[2] in 3950 BBY[1] for a meeting with the Sith Emperor. The Emperor promptly killed the Dark Councilors mere hours before his Imperial Guard purged the remaining three, including Darth Nyriss, because five of the Councilors had participated in a conspiracy against the Emperor.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Darth Igrol was first mentioned in Drew Karpyshyn's 2011 novel The Old Republic: Revan.[2]

  3. The Essential Reader's Companion places the first half of The Old Republic: Revan in 3954 BBY, and Darth Nyriss is said to have joined the Dark Council twenty years before the start of the novel. Darth Xedrix, in turn, joined the Council ten years prior to Nyriss, meaning the two joined in 3984 and 3974 BBY respectively. Darth Igrol is stated to be the second-longest serving member of the Council in 3954 BBY, joining after Xedrix but prior to Nyriss, so he must have joined between 3984 and 3974 BBY.
