Darth Immern was a Sith Lord[3] of Human or Sith pureblood descent[2] who served the reconstituted Sith Empire during the Great Galactic War with the Galactic Republic. In a fit of frustration, Immern executed the crew of his personal cruiser, an action that left him stranded in space; the Sith was forced to turn to the maintenance droid MZ-12 to help manage the cruiser's systems, and the astromech droid successfully guided the starship to an Imperial way station.[3] Immern chose to spend a fortune[4] to upgrade the droid's programming so that it could serve as his personal navigation droid, although Immern died[3] in naval combat at the First Battle of Bothawui in 3671 BBY,[1] leaving MZ-12 without a master.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Darth Immern was first mentioned in the Codex entry for MZ-12 in Galactic Starfighter, a Digital Expansion released in 2013 for the 2011 BioWare video game, Star Wars: The Old Republic.[3]

Notes and references[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 Star Wars: The Old Republic: Galactic Starfighter — Codex: "MZ-12" states that Darth Immern died above Bothawui at the First Battle of Bothawui. Timeline 5: The Battle of Bothawui on The Old Republic's official website (article) (backup link) places the battle 18 years before the Treaty of Coruscant, which occurred in 3653 BBY per Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia. Thus, the battle occurred in 3671 BBY.
  2. 2.0 2.1 Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia establishes that prior to the end of the Great Galactic War, only Humans and Sith purebloods were permitted to undertake Sith training. Thus, Darth Immern, a Sith Lord who died during the war according to Star Wars: The Old Republic: Galactic Starfighter — Codex: "MZ-12", was one of those two species.
