Darth Sanguis was a male Sith Lord who, according to legend, traveled to Exegol seeking to learn the secrets of immortality. After achieving his goal, Darth Sanguis transformed into a creature over time. Eventually, Sanguis became a servant to Darth Noctyss when she arrived on Exegol, also seeking immortality. Noctyss sacrificed Sanguis in an immortality ritual, freeing him from a twisted life and dooming herself to a similar fate.
Biography[]
Darth Sanguis went off to the Unknown Regions in search of eternal life and was not to be seen again for years, as no one knew his location.[1]
Darth Noctyss, also in search of immortality, made her way to Exegol where she found Sanguis, though decrepit and unrecognizable, and did not realize it was him. Sanguis became her servant[1] and apprentice[2] for a short time. The ritual found by Noctyss on Exegol required her to sacrifice a living being, and Sanguis was the only living thing the Dark Lord could find. She killed Sanguis and did receive eternal life, but in a very different way than expected. Noctyss became a creature very similar to Sanguis, and then realized Sanguis' fate. Noctyss lived the rest of her days as a deformed monster, alone and immortal, on Exegol.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- "As this story was one of the last to be added, and due to approaching printing deadlines, I had to proceed with the illustration without knowing whom or what the main characters were. What I did know was that this story took place on Exegol and was going to have a strong Dr. Frankenstein and Ygor vibe. At the time, I only had the trailer visuals to go off of. Inspired by a screenshot, I built up the scene and shrouded our Sith in a hood to hide their identity. With a bit of Force lightning to showcase the villain's power, I was able to increase the drama in the composition. The curved saber was added later, and if I am not mistaken, is specific to a particular Sith."

Darth Sanguis appeared in 2020 in "A Life Immortal," a story within the book Dark Legends, written and illustrated by George Mann and Grant Griffin, respectively.[1]
