A cult existed within the Baran Do, a Force-using group of sages of the Kel Dor species. The cult sought to join the Sith,[1] an order of dark-siders,[2] and worshipped the dead Sith Lord Darth Sion.[1] Long before 3643 BBY,[3] the cult supposedly became defunct, however it continued to operate in secret.[1] By that year,[3] the cult operated in an ancient Baran Do monastery, where the cultists left offerings to Darth Sion. Around that time, an individual associated with one of the two opposing governments in the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire uncovered evidence of a conspiracy to conceal the existence of the supposedly defunct cult.[1]
The individual subsequently sent a companion of theirs to seek information on the cult. The companion discovered the monastery and retrieved the offerings the cultists had left for Darth Sion.[1]

The cult was mentioned in the Crew Skill mission "Corruption of the Baran Do" in the 2011 BioWare video game Star Wars: The Old Republic, though the information regarding the mission's outcome was later removed from the game.[1]
