Darth Vader 5 is the fifth issue of the canon comic book series Star Wars: Darth Vader. It was written by Greg Pak, illustrated by Raffaele Ienco, and published by Marvel Comics on September 16, 2020. It features the story "Dark Heart of the Sith Part V," in which Darth Vader's search is concluded at Polis Massa, the birthplace of Luke Skywalker.

Plot summary[]

DARK HEART OF THE SITH
Part V
Darth Vader revealed the truth: He is Luke
Skywalker's father. But Luke refused Vader's
call to the dark side of the Force and escaped.

Enraged, Vader has taken a squad of death
troopers and the Imperial forensics droid,
ZED-6-7, on a quest of revenge against everyone
who hid Luke from him. Vader's new ally—Queen
Amidala's former handmaiden Sabé—has sworn
a vengeance of her own against her queen's
killers.

But Sabé betrayed Darth Vader, believing the
Dark Lord to be Padmé's killer. Vader battled
Sabé and her followers on Naboo before
Padmé's grave....

Development[]

Darth Vader 5 was originally solicited for June 17, 2020.[3] The art of scene where Vader overlooks Padmé Amidala's coffin underwent several "roughs"[4] before the final version was settled upon.[5]
