Dasi Oran was a human senator who represented the planet Ghorman on the Imperial Senate. In 3 BBY, Oran conversed with fellow senator Mon Mothma about a bill aimed at bringing down the Public Order Resentencing Directive. Despite being sympathetic to Mothma, he disagreed heavily about the bill and refused to vote with her, on account of the anti-Ghorman policies being enacted.[1] In secret, the Empire's anti-Ghorman campaign was a result of the discovery of Kalkite under the surface. The Empire's suppression culminated in the Ghorman Massacre.[3] After that, Oran was arrested by stormtroopers in the Imperial Senate Building without charges. As he was taken away, Oran begged the onlooking senators to pay attention, asking them to remember Ghorman as his people were slaughtered and that the same destruction would come to their own people in time.[4]
