Deacon Eso was a male Human engineer in the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. At some point during the conflict, Eso was stationed on the planet Corellia, as part of the Alliance's engineer contingent responsible for ensuring and assisting in the production of the Alliance's starships. By 0 BBY, Eso had become a captain in the Alliance. That year, following the Alliance's victory at the Battle of Yavin, Eso attended a ceremony held in the Alliance's headquarters on the moon Yavin 4, which honored the Heroes of Yavin.

Biography

The Human male[1] Deacon Eso was an engineer in the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War, a conflict between the Alliance and the Galactic Empire. At some point during the conflict, Eso was among the engineers sent to the planet Corellia to ensure and assist in the production of the Alliance's starships.[2]

By 0 BBY, Eso had attained the rank of captain.[3] That year, the Battle of Yavin occurred, during which the Alliance destroyed the Imperial DS-1 Orbital Battle Station superweapon over the moon Yavin 4. Following the battle, the Alliance held a ceremony in the Grand Audience Chamber of the Great Temple, their headquarters on Yavin 4. Eso was present during the ceremony, which was held in honor of the Heroes of Yavin: Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Chewbacca.[1]

Personality and traits

At the time of his service in Corellia, Deacon Eso was one of the Alliance's best engineers.[2] Eso was possessed of fair skin, as well as gray hair.[1]

Behind the scenes

Deacon Eso was first seen as a Rebel extra in the ending scene of the 1977 film Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.[1] In 1998, he was featured, albeit still unnamed, on a card for the Special Edition Limited set of the Star Wars Customizable Card Game.[2] In 2012, Eso was given a name in the Rogues Gallery: Celebrating a Rebel Victory! feature of Star Wars Insider 133.[3]
