The Delephrans were a socio-cultural group[3] that originated in[2] the Delephr system of the Outer Rim Territories' Carrion sector.[1] They maintained the Delephran militia and engaged in commerce shipping that was preyed on for several years by pirates based in the Vexta Belt[3] of the Vexta system.[1] Eventually, at some point no later than 1 BBY,[4] the Delephran militia commissioned the decorated Galactic Republic soldier Andrephan Stormcaller to train its commanders, leading to Stormcaller heading the operation known as the Piracy Scouring against the Vexta Belt pirates.[3]
At some point after the establishment of the Galactic Empire[3] in 19 BBY,[5] the Imperial Military absorbed the Delephran forces, with all personnel of the latter facing mandatory service in the former and Stormcaller going to serve at the Imperial Academy.[3] The Delephr system fell within the borders of the Empire's Pentastar Alignment splinter faction between 4 ABY and 12 ABY and was a part of the Imperial Remnant between 18 ABY and 35 ABY.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Delephrans were introduced in "Blasters for Hire," a Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game source article written by Anthony P. Russo and published in the August 1994 third issue of West End Games's Star Wars Adventure Journal magazine.[3]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Delephrans in relation to the Delephr system.

"Blasters for Hire" — Star Wars Adventure Journal 3 establishes that Stormcaller served with the Delephran militia no less than three years before joining the Alliance.
