Deren was a human male who served as the captain of the royal guard of the Inner Rim planet Pijal.^[1] In, 40 BBY,^[2] when Princess Fanry planned a revolution to stop the influence of the Czerka Corporation over Pijal, Deren was obligated to assist her.^[1]
