Derenzil was a swamp planet[2] located in the Wild Space Derenzil system in grid square S-18 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] A short-lived civil war occurred there in which both sides were supplied with highly specialized, aquatic sonic weapons by Geonosians from the Outer Rim planet Geonosis. The weapons were created in a factory near the Stalgasin hive on Geonosis that was equipped with a fighter hangar due to the risk of the project; however,[2] by 22 BBY,[3] the factory was abandoned.[2]

In the current Star Wars canon, Derenzil was mentioned in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations. It was part of material reprinted[2] from the 2003 reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, which was written by Simon Beecroft and Curtis Saxton and marked the first mention of the world in the Star Wars Legends continuity.[4]
