Devon Race was a male Human Padawan of the Jedi Order serving the Galactic Republic during the Cold War with the Sith Empire. Near the end of his training, Jedi Master Silvarte granted Race permission to travel to the planet Taris and explore the ruins of the old Jedi Enclave in hopes of recovering Jedi artifacts. However, Race and his astromech droid T4-U5 were driven off by pirates and rakghouls in the area, so Race sought help from other Republic-allied individuals in the area.[1]
