Digger was an enhanced clone trooper assigned to a platoon sent to Pengalan IV early in the Clone Wars. Joram Kithe gave Digger the nickname when he observed him digging shallow graves for his fallen comrades.
Digger and his platoon were created with enhanced self-reliance and initiative, and sent on missions with observers like Kithe so they would gain support for the continued creation of clone troopers for the Grand Army of the Republic.
