Diyu was a planet[2] that was located within the Diyu system of the galaxy's Hutt Space region[1] and lay on the hyperlane called the Shag Pabol, which connected it to the Rorak system and the world of Ylesia.[2]
Diyu was a major industrial center that relied on slave labor for centuries. The Anjiliac kajidic, a clan of the Hutt species, had influence on the planet.[3] When the military forces of the extra-galactic Yuuzhan Vong species invaded Hutt Space, Diyu escaped their advance.[2]

Diyu was first mentioned in The Essential Atlas, a 2009 reference book co-authored by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace, which placed the planet in grid square S-12.[2]
