Docking Bay 327, also known as Hangar Bay 327 or simply as Bay 327 was a docking bay aboard the Death Star. The docking bay was overseen by a control room, along with a tractor beam projector. It served as a cargo loading assembly area. An atmosphere containment projector kept the station's internal atmosphere in if the bay doors were opened. It was located directly above a TIE fighter staging area and 400 meters above Detention Block AA-23.^[3]

History[]

When it was captured by the Death Star, the Millennium Falcon was pulled into Bay 327 through a tractor beam.^[2] Evading detection, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Chewbacca launched a covert effort to rescue Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan from her captivity, with C-3PO and R2-D2 coordinating their efforts from Bay 327's control center. At the same time, Jedi Master Obi-Wan disabled the tractor beam surrounding Bay 327, before being confronted by his former apprentice Darth Vader who ultimately struck him down in a duel in the vicinity of the ''Millennium Falcon''. Despite the intervention of Imperial Stormtroopers, Skywalker and his allies ultimately escaped.
