Doctor Aphra 27 is the twenty-seventh issue of the comic book series Star Wars: Doctor Aphra. The comic was written by Simon Spurrier, illustrated by Emilio Laiso, and published on December 12, 2018 by Marvel Comics. The issue contains the story "Worst Among Equals Part II," in which Doctor Aphra and Triple-Zero fall into Milvayne's underworld, meeting the orphaned scavenger Vulaada Klam.

Publisher's summary[]

WORST AMONG EQUALS: PART TWO! Rogue archaeologist DOCTOR APHRA has ten hours to cross a hostile megacity before the bomb implanted in her throat blows up. No big deal, right? And even if there ARE, say, insane cops and bounty hunters on her tail—she's got a partner to help her! (Unfortunately that would be TRIPLE ZERO: the astonishingly unpleasant murder droid who yearns to see her dead)

Plot summary[]

WORST AMONG EQUALS
Part II
Rogue archaeologist Doctor Aphra is on
the run! Implanted with a proximity bomb,
she's forced to stay close to her nemesis,
the psychotic droid Triple-Zero.

It's all part of a grand experiment by the
evil Doctor Cornelius Evazan, who watches
from afar as Aphra blunders through the
many dangers of the ultra lawful Imperial
world, Milvayne.

How could it get any worse? Perhaps if
Triple-Zero killed the only person capable
of removing the bombs and triggered a
fail-safe countdown....

  2. The events of Doctor Aphra (2016) 27 are set between issues 22 and 40 of the Star Wars: Doctor Aphra comic-book series. In issue 22, Accresker Jail is decommissioned. Crimson Reign 3 states that Jeremoch Colton had been in the wreckage-prison for over three years when Madelin Sun visited him. Crimson Reign 3 issue also states that he was imprisoned after the capture of the Tantive IV, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 0 BBY. The rebel base on Hoth is still intact during the events of Doctor Aphra 40, and Galactic Atlas dates the base's destruction to 3 ABY. Therefore, the events of Doctor Aphra 27 have to have occurred in that year.
