Dorin Bell was a male human scientist who served the Galactic Empire.[2] Around 6 BBY,[1] Bell was the first target for Jyn Erso to assassinate on the planet Horuz. However, he was killed not by Erso's weapon, but by a grenade from a trap set up by the Partisans in case of Erso's failure.[2]

Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel establishes that Jyn Erso was born one year after the First Battle of Geonosis, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 22 BBY. Therefore Erso was born in 21 BBY, and the mission to Horuz must have occurred sometime around 6 BBY.
