- "A gem among the smaller capital ships. Who still uses these?"
"Dornea, my dear Statura. Dornea uses them." - ―Ushos O. Statura and Admiral Gial Ackbar discuss the usage of Braha'tok-class gunships
Dornea was a planet[4] that was the homeworld of the Dornean species.[1] The native species designed the Braha'tok-class gunship,[5] which were manufactured by the Dornean Braha'ket Fleetworks Conglomerate to protect Dornea from the Galactic Empire[1] Some of these gunships saw service with the Rebel Alliance during the early rebellion against the Empire.[3] After the Alliance secured a decisive victory at the Battle of Yavin, Dornea joined their cause and brought more Braha'tok-class gunships with them.[2]
The gunships continued to protect the Dornean homeworld after the fall of the Empire.[6] In 34 ABY,[7] the The Rebel Files were uncovered during an excavation on Durkteel and eventually reached the Resistance, a private military with roots to the Rebel Alliance. Admiral Ushos O. Statura questioned wrote a note in a section on the Braha'tok-class gunship, questioning who still used them. Admiral Gial Ackbar left a note reply that Dornea still used the vessels.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
Dornea was first mentioned in the 2017 canon boxset and reference book Star Wars: The Rebel Files, written by Daniel Wallace.[3] In Star Wars Legends continuity, Dornea first appeared in the 1996 novel Before the Storm, written by Michael P. Kube-McDowell.[8]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rebel Files establishes that The Rebel Files were buried on the same day as the Battle of Endor, which takes place in 4 ABY, according to Star Wars: Galactic Atlas. Since Star Wars: The Rebel Files also establishes that the files were rediscovered thirty years later, they must have been uncovered in 34 ABY.
