- "Drall is a sleepy backwater."
- ―Mara Jade
Drall was a pleasant, temperate planet in the Corellian system, being one of the Five Brothers. It was the homeworld of the Drall, and was famous for its great food and the Boiling Sea.
History[]
Pre Republic[]
- "You saw how it shoved those rocks back up as they fell. That confirmed what I suspected. This place is a repulsor, a planet-sized repulsor, powerful enough to move the whole world of Drall. It did move the world of Drall, once, long ago."
- ―Marcha, describing the planetary repulsor on Drall
It was believed that the Celestials moved the planet into Corell's orbit from an unknown location, along with its four brother planets, facilitated by subterranean planetary repulsors and Centerpoint Station. It became populated with a species that shared the name with the planet, the Drall, who organized themselves into clans. While the planet came to have a few large cities, such as Mastigophorous, it was never considered to be more than a backwater world.[7]
Prior to 35,000 BBY, Drall scientist Tiran developed the Theory of Universal Reference.[8]
Around 36,453 BBY, the planet was annexed by the Infinite Empire. At some point after 30,000 BBY, the Empire began suffering from slave revolts that lead to a civil war. By 25,200 BBY a plague spread through the Rakata, causing the Empire to collapse, freeing Drall.[9]
Galactic Republic[]
Corellia had joined the Galactic Republic as one of its Core Founders in 25,053 BBY.[10] Drall itself was ruled by the Confederation of the Clans.[1]
In 500 BBY, two of the planets in the Corellian System, Talus and Tralus, known as the the Double Worlds, united and formed their own government called the Federation of the Double Worlds. In 470 BBY, Drall, along with Corellia and Selonia attempted and failed to conquer the two planets.[source?]
Around 312 BBY, King Berethron e Solo abolished the monarchy and the Corellian System, including Drall, became ruled by a new government, lead by a Diktat.[11]
Later years[]
In 19 BBY, the Galactic Republic became the Galactic Empire.[12] The Empire took control of the Corellian Sector, and appointed Diktat Daclif Gallamby in 2 BBY.[7]
In 12 ABY, the Corellian Sector joined the New Republic and Gallamby was replaced with Governor-General Micamberlecto. His influence was very little, as the strict oversight of the Galactic Republic and the Galactic Empire was gone, and various extremist groups began popping up on the worlds in the Corellian System, such as the Drallist Front, who assumed power on Drall.[13] The Drallists and the other groups were supported by the Sacorrian Triad, who were attempting to cause an uprising in order to give them an opportunity to break away from the New Republic and form an independent state. Each group was ordered by the Triad to search for the planetary repulsor on their respective planet to use in the uprisings.[9] Eventually, riots between different species began breaking out across each planet in the Corellian System, though the New Republic was able to regain control and was victorious.[14]
Drall was later blockaded during the Second Galactic Civil War.[15]
