"Hey! Who are you?"
―Drazin, before shooting C-3PO[src]

Drazin was a stormtrooper corporal assigned to Commander Igar's honor guard by the year 4 ABY. He, alongside the stormtrooper Gamma Squad, accompanied Darth Vader when the Galactic Empire took control of Cloud City in 3 ABY with the goal of capturing Luke Skywalker. There in a back room he shot C-3PO—who inadvertently discovered the Imperial forces—in order to prevent the droid from blowing the cover of him and his teammates, following the standard Imperial procedure of shooting first and asking questions later. A year later, Drazin was assigned to Tempest Force and participated in the Battle of Endor.

Drazin was born on Cloud City, over the gas giant of Bespin. At some point, he chose to enlist in the Stormtrooper Corps of the Galactic Empire. He achieved the rank of corporal.

Assigned to Gamma Squad, he accompanied Darth Vader to Cloud City in 3 ABY to capture Luke Skywalker during the Occupation of Bespin. While there, he was seated in a room that C-3PO, Luke's protocol droid, entered. Drazin ordered the droid to stand still and rose from his chair, before blasting the droid.[2]

Afterwards, Drazin became a member of Commander Igar's personal honor guard,[1] and with that, Tempest Force. It was an elite formation of Imperial Army, Imperial Navy, and Stormtrooper Corps units that was tasked with guarding the shield generator bunker on the forest moon of Endor. In 4 ABY, he participated in the Battle of Endor when the Alliance to Restore the Republic Endor strike team attacked the bunker being shot down by Han Solo after shooting R2-D2.

Behind the scenes[]

In the non-canon comic series Star Wars: Tag & Bink, Drazin's appearance in The Empire Strikes Back in the back room is changed into Tag and Bink hiding and being discovered by the droid. They shot C-3PO as payback for him causing their capture years earlier on the Tantive IV.
