- "She began to collect what she would need: clay from the Singing Mountain and water from the Dreaming River."
- ―Falta recounting her story to Bug
The Dreaming River was a river on the planet Dathomir. During the Republic Era, the Dathomirian witch Falta visited the Dreaming River. She collected water from the river which she bundled together with other items in a burial pod to create her daughter Yenna, in a process contrary to the burial customs of the Nightsister clan.[1] Sometime between 20 BBY and 19 BBY,[2] Falta traveled to an inn on the planetoid Sídi where she recounted her excursion to the young girl known as "Bug."[1]
Behind the scenes[]
In the current Star Wars canon, the Dreaming River was mentioned in the 2020 short story "Bug," written by E. Anne Convery and published in The Clone Wars: Stories of Light and Dark anthology.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Dreaming River valley was first mentioned in "Nightsaber," a 2003 mini-adventure for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game published by Wizards of the Coast.[3]

Notes and references[]
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 "Bug"—The Clone Wars: Stories of Light and Dark
- ↑ "Bug" is set during the Clone Wars and several months after the Battle of Dathomir. Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates the battle to 20 BBY, and the end of the Clone Wars to 19 BBY. Thus, the short story must take place between those two years.
