Drell was a male Weequay pirate who was part of the Warbird gang. He was contacted by one of their spies, Synara San when she wished to speak with their leader, Kragan Gorr. San later helped smuggle Drell and fellow pirate Valik onto the Colossus to kidnap Torra Doza.
Biography[]

Drell is contacted by Synara San
By the year 34 ABY, the Weequay Drell was a high-ranking member of the Warbird gang, a pirate gang led by the Quarren Kragan Gorr.[5]
The daylight raid[]
During that year, Synara San, a member of the gang operating as a spy on the Colossus platform, reached Drell when she contacted the rest of the gang. He mockingly asked her how she was enjoying her new home, and she demanded to speak to Gorr immediately. Gorr was soon able to reach her and was given the go-ahead to lead the pirates into an attack on the Colossus.[1]
Kidnapping Torra Doza[]
Later, Drell and the Palliduvan Valik were sent to the Colossus to kidnap Torra Doza, the daughter of the refueling stations captain, Imanuel Doza. The pair were smuggled into the Colossus loading docks in a container and San led them to Doza Tower, where the Doza's lived. After San let them in, Drell and Valik then left her.[2]
When Synara learned about the true nature of their mission, she warned her friend Kazuda Xiono and Captain Doza. After Drell took out the security droids with an Electro Magnetic Pulse grenade, he and Valik managed to capture Torra and bring her back to their ship, where Vonreg later betrayed them and shot Drell and the Trandoshan Skreek.[2]
Picking up Synara[]
As Synara escaped from the Colossus during its occupation by the First Order stormtroopers, Kragan and Drell picked Synara up by using the skiff.[6]
Kaz's appeal[]
Later, onboard the Galleon, Drell heard from Valik intercepted an encoded transmission sent from the Colossus, which she brought to Kragan. When she decoded the message, it turned out to be a transmission sent to the Resistance by Kazuda Xiono, calling for help.[7]
Salvage the dreadnought[]
Kragan, Drell and Valik are laughing that Kazuda Xiono want to help them to salvage the Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnought Fulminatrix to get the coaxium, as he tells Kaz they lackeys only take orders from one tyrant, Captain Kragan. As what Kaz said that Colossus can't jump into hyperspace, they agreed.[4]
Hunt the jakoosk[]
Drell was surprised about the people of Colossus, as he thinks that Doza's "got a real mess on his hands", Kragan said, "Which means an opportunity for us". Drell with Kragan to Aunt Z's Tavern as Kragan tells Aunt Z that he and his crew will go on a hunt for jakoosk. At the ice moon Celsor 3, he and Snarl are on of skiffs. So Snarl use the thermal detonators to get the jakoosk out of its hiding, until the it came. When it failed as their skiff was destroyed, they're stranded until Tora and Kaz come back with blaster cannon and the jakoosk woke up, they stole both of their ships. After the jakoosk have been defeated by Kaz with the big laser cannon, Synara pulled Drell's right arm while Snarl walks with him as she tells them to apologize for stealing their ships, and being stranded on the ice moon even for Buggles. After that, they headed to the service of jakoosk meat.[8]
Selling super battle droids[]
Not too long before the Battle of Exegol,[9] his sail barge the Galleon came up to the rendezvous point with Meson Martinet led by Sidon Ithano of his crew. Drell carried a case of credits to give Sidon to pay him. Kragan was so pleased to see a battalion of B2-series super battle droids, so he ordered Drell to give the credits for the Crimson Corsair and with the battle droids can help his plan to take over the Colossus.[10]
Personality and traits[]
Drell was a male Weequay with brown skin, black hair, and gray eyes.[2] He had an attitude problem[5] and had sense of joy from wreaking havoc in the galaxy and shooting down enemies. Gorr trusted him with important missions.[11] Drell had no scruples about kidnapping Torra Doza for the financial benefit of the Warbird gang, who worked as proxies for the First Order.[2]
Equipment[]
Drell usually wore stormtrooper armor and was armed with thermal detonators.[5]
Behind the scenes[]
Drell first appeared in the Star Wars Resistance episode "Synara's Score." He is voiced by David Shaughnessy.[1] At the end of the episode "The Doza Dilemma," a character who looks and sounds the same as him is holding Torra Doza hostage with Valik on Kragan Gorr's pirate ship. However, this was not Drell, as Drell appears in later episodes of the show, and this Weequay at the end of "The Doza Dilemma" was shot in the torso and later had their corpse blown up by a First Order shuttle.[source?]
