In 35 ABY,[2] the droidsmith Babu Frik had a custom droid vision phoropter[3] set up on a table in his workshop in the Thieves' Quarter of Kijimi City[4] on the planet Kijimi while he worked on conducting a complete redacted memory bypass on the protocol droid C-3PO. Shortly after the bypass was complete, the entirety of Kijimi was destroyed by the Final Order, although Frik managed to escape offworld beforehand.[1] The custom device consisted of a gray base with several switches and buttons and a rod protruding from the top of the base that supported an array of lenses of varying sizes.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
A droid vision phoropter first appeared in the 2019 sequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker.[1] The device was simultaneously identified in the accompanying reference book Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[3]
