A drop company was a formation within the Imperial Army.
Organization[]
Drop companies were essentially Imperial line companies with an expanded support element. A drop company would be orbit-loaded for deployment for missions of up to six weeks, although standard doctrine called for the missions to last only two weeks. Support personnel were trained in hostile environment survival and they were expected to train the individual platoons how to survive.[1]
A drop company would be augmented by the addition of two more line platoons, an assault platoon, and an armor platoon.[2]
