Around 3640 BBY, during the Galactic War, the Rift Alliance Senator Tobas Grell was kidnapped by Stark, a servant of the First Son of the Emperor. The Barsen'thor of the Jedi Order, and Tobas's daughter Nadia Grell, tried to rescue Tobas, but the man succumbed to Stark's torture. Stark was defeated and died when his life was cut off by the First Son.[3]

Annihilation establishes that the Treaty of Coruscant collapsed approximately eighteen months prior, or in 3641 BBY, and as Act III occurs after the treaty's collapse, the act begins sometime between 3641 BBY and 3640 BBY.
