"You must be starving. Bring him some dung worms."
Peli Motto about Grogu[1]

Dung worms were edible animals on Tatooine. Around 9 ABY,[2] Peli Motto supplied dung worms for Grogu to eat.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Within the canonical Star Wars continuity, dung worms first appeared in "Chapter 7: In the Name of Honor," the seventh episode of the live-action television series The Book of Boba Fett, which was written by Jon Favreau, directed by Robert Rodriguez, and aired on Disney+ on February 9, 2022.[1]

Dung worms were originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace video game.[3]

  2. The attack on Jabba's Palace, depicted in "Chapter 16: The Rescue," is dated to be around 9 ABY by "Jabba the Hutt and Other Bounty Hunters and Criminals". As the present-time of The Book of Boba Fett occurs shortly after the attack, The Book of Boba Fett must also take place around 9 ABY.
