Durand was a male Corellian who served as the chairman of the Corellian Council, the ruling body of his homeworld Corellia, centuries before the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. During a passionate debate about subsector zoning bypass regulations, an angry Councilor named Brecourl challenged Durand to a duel in front of the rest of the Council, a duel that Durand won; the incident was famously remembered as the only time someone had been killed on the floor of the Legislature Building.[1]
