Durgen's Star was a white dwarf star that was located in the Durgen's Star system. It was situated in the Loop Worlds area of the Gordian Reach sector, within the Trans-Hydian portion of the Outer Rim Territories. Durgen's Star lay on the hyperlane known as the Junction-Tierell Loop, which connected it to the Povanaria and Trinovat systems.[1]
The star was circled by a debris field of tumbling rock and ice fragments that was a remnant of an ancient supernova. According to spacer tales, prospectors at some point discovered unusual, unimaginably ancient technology of unknown purpose in the Durgen's Star debris,[1] and by 43 ABY,[2] generations of mining operations, lured by those rumors, had searched the debris field for anything worth extracting.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Durgen's Star was introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace, which placed it in grid square Q-6.[1]
