"Sistros, one of the four ancient philosophers of Dwartii."
Emperor Palpatine — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)[3]

Dwartii was a planet located in the Inner Rim,[1] in grid square N-8 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[2] It was home to the eponymous Four Sages of DwartiiSistros Nevet, Faya Rodemos, Yanjon Zelmar, and Braata Danlos—who were controversial philosophers and lawgivers from the early days of the Galactic Republic,[4] as well as the philosopher Cowus Roont, often called the 'Fifth Sage' of Dwartii.[5]

Dwartii also shared its name with a social group that had a set of glyphs associated with it.[6] A map showing Dwartii's location in the galaxy was included in Traveler's Guide to Batuu, a guide book for the planet Batuu written by the historian Eloc Throno[1] that was written in 34 ABY.[7]

Behind the scenes[]

In the current Star Wars canon, Dwartii was first mentioned in the 2014 novel Tarkin, written by James Luceno.[3] The name "Dwartii" originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where the Four Sages of Dwartii were mentioned in the 2005 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations, written by Kerrie Dougherty.[8] Based on that mention, the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas also introduced the Dwartii system.[9]
