Dwartii was a planet located in the Inner Rim,[1] in grid square N-8 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[2] It was home to the eponymous Four Sages of Dwartii—Sistros Nevet, Faya Rodemos, Yanjon Zelmar, and Braata Danlos—who were controversial philosophers and lawgivers from the early days of the Galactic Republic.[4] Dwartii also shared its name with a social group that had a set of glyphs associated with it.[5] A map showing Dwartii's location in the galaxy was included in Traveler's Guide to Batuu, a guide book for the planet Batuu written by the historian Eloc Throno.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
In the new Star Wars canon, Dwartii was first mentioned in the 2014 novel Tarkin, written by James Luceno.[3] The name "Dwartii" originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where the Four Sages of Dwartii were mentioned in the 2005 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations, written by Kerrie Dougherty.[6] Based on that mention, the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas also introduced the Dwartii system.[7]
