Dybrin 12 was a moon situated in the Deep Core region of the galaxy. In spite of its blisteringly hot climate and poisonous, highly pressurized atmosphere, it was home to living organisms, including the sentient Dybrinthe species. Using mobile refinery-cities, the Dybrinthe clans exploited the natural fuel that bubbled up from the moon's extensive subterranean oceans. Since most offworlders could not survive on Dybrin 12, visitors were usually confined to space stations orbiting the moon. The Dybrinthe bounty hunter Athgar Heece was a native of Dybrin 12.[1]
The moon shared its name with Dybrin, a planet also situated in the Deep Core.[2] Dybrin 12 was mentioned in an artist's journal, which was restored, expanded, and displayed at the Graf Archive[3] at some point after 34 ABY.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
Dybrin 12 was first mentioned, albeit indirectly, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, a 2015 reference book written by Pablo Hidalgo.[5] However, the name itself was only coined in Jason Fry's reference book Star Wars: Aliens of the Galaxy, released in 2016.[1]
In the twenty-third issue of the Star Wars Helmet Collection magazine, published in 2016, the homeworld of Athgar Heece was described as a planet instead of a moon.[6]

- ↑ Star Wars: Alien Archive establishes that the restored in-universe journal discusses Poe Dameron's mutiny against Amilyn Holdo, which is depicted in Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi. The Star Wars Book places the events of The Last Jedi in the same year as the events of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 34 ABY, meaning the document must have been published after that year.
